Privacy policy

DF Episode Pipeline is a private tool operated by Ben Howe for the production team of
Dumpster Fire with Bridget Phetasy. This policy describes exactly what it accesses, what it
stores, and what it does not do. It is short because the application is small.
What it accesses
With the permission of the channel owner, and only after that owner grants it through Google's
consent screen, the application requests two read-only permissions:
• youtube.readonly — to read the channel's own account and video metadata, so a
report can identify which episode it describes.
• yt-analytics.readonly — to read YouTube Analytics reports for that channel.
Both are read-only. The application requests no permission to create, edit, upload, publish or
delete anything, and it holds none.
What data it handles
Aggregate performance statistics for the channel's own videos: view counts, estimated minutes
watched, average view duration and percentage, audience retention curves, traffic sources, device and
playback location categories, aggregate age and gender bands as YouTube reports them, subscriber
gains and losses, and public video metadata such as titles, air dates and thumbnails. It also stores
public comments on the channel's own videos, as YouTube publishes them.
All of this is data about the channel itself. The application does not receive, request or store
the personal information of individual viewers. YouTube's own reporting is aggregated and withholds
demographic figures below its privacy threshold; the application records that withholding as a stated
absence rather than filling it in.
Where it is stored, and for how long
On one computer, in ordinary files, belonging to the show's editor. There is no server, no
database service, no cloud storage and no hosting provider. Data is retained for as long as the show
keeps its production records, and can be deleted at any time at the channel owner's request.
What is never done with it
• It is never sold, licensed, rented or traded.
• It is never shared with advertisers, data brokers, analytics vendors or any third party.
• It is never used for advertising, profiling or any purpose other than producing the show's own
internal performance reports.
• It is never transferred to any other application or service.
Google user data and Limited Use
The application's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the
Google API Services User
Data Policy (https://developers.google.com/terms/api-services-user-data-policy), including its Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used only to provide and
improve the internal reporting described above, is not transferred to others except as required for
that purpose or by law, and is not used for advertising or for human review except where required by
law or with the channel owner's explicit consent.
Withdrawing access
The channel owner may revoke access at any time, immediately and without contacting anyone, at
myaccount.google.com/permissions (https://myaccount.google.com/permissions) by removing
DF Episode Pipeline. Revocation takes effect at once. On request, any data already collected will be
deleted.
