DF Episode Pipeline
A private reporting tool for the podcast Dumpster Fire with Bridget Phetasy.
DF Episode Pipeline is a small, private application used by the production team of
Dumpster Fire with Bridget Phetasy. It reads performance data for the show's own YouTube
channel and turns it into internal per-episode reports — how each episode performed in its first
week and first month, how much of it people watched, how many arrived as new viewers, and where
they came from.
It is not a product, it is not for sale, and it is not offered to the public. It runs on one
computer belonging to the show's editor and produces documents read by the show's own team.
What it does
• Reads YouTube Analytics reports for the channel — views, watch time, average view duration
and percentage, audience retention, traffic sources, and subscriber counts.
• Reads public metadata for the channel's own videos — titles, air dates, durations and
thumbnails — so each report can identify the episode it describes.
• Compares each episode against the ten episodes that aired before it, so the team can see
what is working rather than a bare number.
What it does not do
• It does not upload, edit, delete or publish anything. It requests read-only access only.
• It does not post comments, change settings, or modify any video or channel.
• It does not read anything belonging to any account other than the channel it reports on.
• It does not send data to any third party, and there is no server — the reports are files on
one computer.
Access and revoking it
Access is granted by the channel owner through Google's standard consent screen, and it is
read-only. It can be withdrawn at any time, without notice and without contacting anyone, at
myaccount.google.com/permissions (https://myaccount.google.com/permissions). Removing it
there ends the application's access immediately.
